API Versioning and Deprecation Policy
With the release of the V3 endpoints, we’ll no longer be including a minor version in the API path. In the past, whenever we made backward compatible changes to the API we’d increment the minor version and support both versions of the API for 60 days after which the old version was deprecated.
With the removal of the minor version from the path, developers should be careful to implement their projects with the knowledge that backwards compatible changes to the API will be made without versioning the API. An API will only get versioned if a change is made that is not backwards compatible. When a backwards incompatible change is made, the API will get versioned and be supported alongside the previous version of the API for 60 days, after which the previous version will be deprecated.
